The first concrete pour for the Loop Trolley project is taking place on the Delmar Loop Wednesday.
It’s estimated that 35 truckloads of concrete will be used on the first section of the trolley track which runs on Delmar Boulevard between Kingsland and Melville Avenues.
In a press release, project leaders said crews were hoping to pour concrete and open the section by the end of last week, but the project got delayed due to the rain.
The Loop Trolley will run on a nearly two mile track that connects the Delmar Loop to Forest Park. One of the project leaders told NewsChannel5 in late June that the project is slated to be completed in the fall of 2016.
