New round of bids for The Loop trolley producing better results

A new round of bidding for The Loop trolley is producing much better results, according to Joe Edwards, the unofficial mayor of the University City Loop.

“It’ll take about a year for construction and then safety training, and [hiring] staff and police,” Edwards said. “In late Spring or early summer of 2016, it should be up and running.”

Previous bids for the project came in were 25 percent over budget. The bids were then re-packaged and Edwards says the new bids are much better.

The proposed trolley would run along Delmar through The Loop shopping and dining district.
