The ‘Loop Is Open’ campaign launchs

Campaign to keep area as a destination and viable business district during Loop Trolley construction

UNIVERSITY CITY, MO – The City of University City in partnership with the Loop Special Business District and Loop Trolley Transportation Development will host a press conference to announce ‘The Loop Is Open’ program on Wednesday afternoon, June 3rd at 12:30 p.m. The announcement will be made in the heart of the Loop in the Melville’s Plaza next to the Chuck Berry statue on Delmar Boulevard.

‘The Loop Is Open’ is a program designed to attract patrons to local businesses in the area through weekly giveaways, monthly block parties and more. Giveaways will consist of two $50 gift certificates each week from participating business, and the block parties will occur each month to unveil track or celebrate a construction milestone with the first block party to be held on Saturday, June 27th.

‘The Loop Is Open’ program will last through the end of the trolley construction. The program is funded through the Loop Trolley Transportation Development District and the City of University City’s Economic Development Retail Sales Tax. A list of participating businesses and complete details will be announced at the press conference.
