When can I ride on the Loop Trolley?
Loop Trolley operations for the 2024 season begin on April 25, 2024.
What are the Loop Trolley hours?
The Loop Trolley will operate four days a week on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. from April 25 through October 27.
When does the 2024 Loop Trolley season end?
Sunday, October 27 is the last day of operation for this year.
How much does it cost to ride the Loop Trolley?
Riding the Loop Trolley is free for all ages. No tickets or reservations are needed. Rides are on a first-come, first-served basis.
Can I catch a ride when Loop Trolley operators are being trained?
No. For your safety, the general public and media members are not allowed to ride on trolley vehicles during training operations. Operator training for the 2024 season will be conducted Monday through Friday from April 1 through April 12 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. and on April 18, April 19, April 20, and April 21 between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Why can't I ride on the Loop Trolley after October 27, 2024?
Important maintenance projects, annual inspections and certifications need to be taken care of on the Trolley cars during the winter months.
How often will the Loop Trolley run?
A round trip on the Trolley takes approximately 60 minutes and that includes a 10-minute operator break at each end of the route – at the Missouri History Museum and the University City Library. Heavy traffic conditions will impact trip travel times.
Will the Trolley run during bad weather?
For the safety of our customers and our operations team, Loop Trolley service will be temporarily suspended during inclement weather incidents. Once it is safe to resume service, the Loop Trolley will begin running again.
Where does the Trolley take me?
The Trolley route is 2.2 miles long. There are 10 stops with six of those Trolley stops located on Delmar Boulevard, three Trolley stops on DeBaliviere, and one stop at the Missouri History Museum. Look for the Loop Trolley signs at each stop along the route from the University City Library to the west and the Missouri History Museum to the east.
How many Trolley cars will be running on the route?
Only one Trolley will be in service with a second Trolley serving as the spare, if needed.
I have mobility issues and use a motorized wheelchair. Can I ride the Loop Trolley?
Yes. The trolley has a wheelchair lift and is ADA compliant.
Can I bring my dog on the Trolley?
No. Service animals are welcome but pets and other animals are not allowed.
Can I bring my bicycle on the Loop Trolley?
Unfortunately, we are not able to allow bicycles on the Loop Trolley. There is no place to safely park a bicycle on board the vintage vehicles which may filled to standing room only at times. Bicycles could fall over during a sudden stop and cause injuries to the cyclist and other Trolley riders. You can always park and lock your bicycle at a bicycle rack along the route or in Forest Park and catch the Loop Trolley at the Missouri History Museum for a round trip ride.
Does the Loop Trolley have air conditioning?
No, the vintage trolley cars do not have air conditioning or heaters so please check the forecasted temperatures when you plan your Loop Trolley ride.
Who operates the Loop Trolley?
As an established transit provider, Bi-State Development was asked by regional leadership to take over Trolley operations to avoid a default on federal funding that was used to start up the Trolley operation several years ago. Bi-State Development is committed to providing a safe operation and is dedicated to running the Loop Trolley system to establish a continuity of service.
